A 13 year old died after reportedly being caned by her teacher

Police in Kampala is investigating circumstances under which a 13 year old primary kid died after being reportedly caned by her teacher who is on the run.

Bennie Athrill a p.7 pupil at Kings day care nursery and primary in Kabowa, Rubaga division in Kampala was beaten to death by her science teacher.

Athrill and other pupils reportedly failed a science test angering the teacher who resorted to flogging all the students with a heavy stick.

In the process, Athrill collapsed and was rushed to St Jude clinic in Ndeeba before being referred to mulago hospital where he died on Wednesday evening moment after reaching.

The Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango says when the pupil collapsed, the unnamed teacher who cained her vanished from the school.

The school council Rosemary Muyingo says that the deceased was only given one stroke of Cain.she said the pupil has been battling heart complications which was know by her parents and to the school.
