The Territorial Police in Gulu has in custody a father identified as Cheyi Ben Angol, a 37-year-old peasant of Apem village, Omel sub-county in Gulu district, for the alleged murder of a 16-year-old boy.

Cheyi Ben Angol is alleged to have murdered Okema Daniel, aged 16, and a student, after he allegedly caught him red-handed with his daughter on the night of 24.02.2023 at around 4 am.

The police spokesperson Fred Enanga says that after the suspect learned that his daughter had sneaked out of the house at night, he mobilized his accomplices who included Rubangakene, Mugisha, Odongo Daniel, Komakech Daniel, and Nasur Bwambale, with whom they stormed the home of the deceased.

“They recovered their daughter and brutally tortured the 16year boyfriend to death. And thereafter hanged his body to fake a suicide then locked the house from outside with a padlock,” said Enanga.

He added on and said that the father suspect was arrested, as a serious manhunt for his 5 co-suspects is ongoing. He also urges members of the public to avoid such acts of violence and lawlessness, but instead, work within the law.
