An increase is reported on sexual child abuse in June this year that 5 of the 22 cases each day are reported to police, 11 at the action aid offices and the rest at the district probation office.

Now kyeyune Ssenyonjo the paliisa resident district commissioner has urged to take advantage of the current laws and policies in place to protect their children from ruthless practices like defilement and rape that would lead to pregnancies.

Kyeyune also advised parents to be vigilant on the movement of their children to avoid unnecessary movements that would end up in negative effects .Meanwhile john Michael kwalinga the paliisa district probationary officer says that many of the cases have been reported in several sub counties .he says many young girls have been given out to men by their parents because of the biting poverty resulting from the lockdown.okwalinga also notes that relaxity among parents to take care of their children is one of the effects of them getting pregnant.

According to him, the covid19 pandemic has worsened the problem of child mothers in the district which has already been a huge challenge.
