Miss Uganda 2023 holds 21 participants and among them, there is Patience Nashua born in 2004 and shes 19 years.
The beautiful 21 contestants were unveiled to the public in an event that was held at Kampala Serena Hotel and this years them is ”Brains beyond Beauty” However, organizers were amazed to discover that one of the contestants, known as Nashua is actually deaf.
Nashua from Butalejja District in Eastern Uganda lost her hearing abilities at the age of six. She was raised by her single mother who faced a lot of challenges while bringing up such a girl. When her mother sought help to rise her daughter, many of her relatives claimed that it was witch craft that led to such a condition.
As the Lord doesn’t forget His own, Nashua got help from the good Samaritans who helped her through out her elementary school.

After school, Nashua decided to look fr something to do which would generate some money to help her and her mother.
Joining Miss Uganda 2023.
Nashua has always loved modeling, so she used the little resources she had to make research pageantry and this led her to the Miss Uganda page. She decided to contact the office asking to be part of the Miss Uganda 2023 competition.
With the help of her interpreter, she managed to beat over 200 girls during the Kampala Auditions and will be going to the boot camp hoping that she can walk away with the Miss Uganda crown and represent the country at Miss World.
