
Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) chairman Waswa Birigwa has stepped down for the race to pick the party’s Presidential flag bearer, leaving Patrick Oboi Amuriat unopposed.
The FDC Party Electoral Commission Chairperson Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda confirmed Wasswa Birigwa’s last-minute withdrawal from the race.
Amuriat will now be confirmed as one of the candidates to face the incumbent Yoweri Museveni in next year’s election.
He was confirmed by Mr. Toteremuka Bamwenda, the FDC Party electoral commission Chairperson after Wasswa Biriggwa opted out of Presidential flag bearer race during the National Council which convened at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi.
