Presidential hopeful, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (Bobi Wine) has described the ruling by High Court as a “historical judgment” in what he called “a bogus case”.

He said the case by Moses Kibalama (founder of NUP) was brought “to cut our speed, to vulgarize us as NUP and to antagonize us”.

“Our detractors in many ways achieved their intentions. We lost 50 candidates who were not sure if the legality of NUP would be upheld. It was the intention of the State through security agencies to cast doubt on us as NUP. I salute the comrades that had faith in us. You are the real revolutionaries.” Bobi Wine said on Wednesday.

To those who ran as Independents, he appealed to them to come out confidently and openly associate with the party.

“This isn’t the end. It’s just the beginning. This isn’t to say that Uganda is as democratic as should be. But this judgment under these circumstances should communicate to you that a declaration in our favor is possible and indeed will be achieved”.
