Kenya’s tourism minister Najib Balala has defended the decision to name British model Naomi Campbell as the country’s international tourism Ambassador.

During a public event, Balala acknowledged that many Kenyans have questioned why Hollywood actress Lupita Nyo’ngo wasn’t picked for the position but instead a Hollywood actress and model Naomi Campbell.

However, the minister said that Nyo’ngo Lupita who is Kenyan but also an act in Hollywood has been unreachable for the last five years but Campbell had taken up the role proborno and that the government was working on details on how to use her influence to promote tourism and Local media reporting.
