The state minister in charge of ethics and integrity Simon Lokodo expresses concern about delays to appoint a substantive inspector general of government at the time when contracts of the two deputies are about to expire.

The Post has had no successor since the departure of Lady Justice Irene Muryagonja upon the expiry of her contract eight months ago.

The contracts of the deputies John Bamugemerere and Mariam Mwangadya are due to expire in March and July respectively.

Under the Constitution, the inspection of government must fully be constituted in order to execute tasks including prosecuting the corrupt independently.
