The Permanent Secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine on behalf of the Ministry of Health received 15 type B ambulances procured by Government of Uganda.
They will be deployed in Regional Referral Hospitals.
This is the first batch of a total of a fleet of 38 ambulances that will boost emergency medical services in Uganda.
Other ambulances expected to arrive in the country are 2 type C (highly specialized ambulances) and 3 water ambulances. The water ambulances will be deployed at Kalangala and Buvuma islands among others.
