Uganda’s biggest telecommunications giants MTN Uganda has today 13 August 2021 rewarded the entire Uganda athletics team that participated in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
During an event at held at Sheraton Hotel, MTN revealed a collective sum of UGX 175,500,000/= where Olympic Gold Medalists Peruth Chemutai and Joshua Cheptegei taking home Shs50m each, Jacob Kiplimo Shs20m for his bronze medal.
Cheptegei was also given a further Shs25m for his silver medal he won in the 10,000m.
MTN Uganda has partnered with Uganda Athletics Federation since 2004 – sponsoring various grass root athletics programs, the most prominent being the Kampala Marathon.
