The National Unity Platform (NUP) has made classification on those claiming to be party representatives and soliciting money from L.C.5 District Chairperson candidates for Kayunga District.
This position became vacant after the sudden demise of Ffefeka Sserubogo whose body was found hanging on the jackfruit tree.
Through its official pages, the party has distanced itself from those soliciting money
“NOTICE Following the sudden demise of our L.C.5 District Chairperson for Kayunga District, comrade Ffefeka Sserubogo, we have learnt that certain individuals claiming to represent NUP are going around the district claiming to have been sent by the Party to conduct on-ground surveys. They are also purportedly soliciting money from the NUP party flag aspirants for the now vacant position.This is to clarify that NUP has not sanctioned those individuals and their activities. Candidates for District Chairpersons are selected by the national Election Management Committee of the Party! In the coming days, the Committee will embark on the candidate selection process for the vacant positions and all interested persons will be accordingly notified. Thank you.” they posted
