The ongoing campaigns for 2021 general elections are becoming violent in areas of Mukono with supporters from various camps clashing over the venues despite a ban on open air campaigns in the wake of COVID-19.

Aspirants are still holding campaign drives across the districts with the absence of a proper campaigning program from the NRM party aspirants is activating fights between political camps.

For instance two contenders in the district Hajji Haruna Semakula and the incoming Andrew Senoga clashed at Mpata sub county.

The Mukono resident district commissioner Fred Bamwine says that different camps have been summoned to record statements about the fracas that has been happening in both camps and each has to ensure that they maintain the guidelines put by the ministry of health while campaigning.
