Authorities in South Sudan have confirmed that a small plane crushed on Tuesday evening in the Eastern Jongole state killing 10 people on board including 2 pilots.
The plane crushed at Pierre airstrip shortly after take off while heading to the Capital Juba.
The plane belongs to a local aviation company.
Ayii Duang Ayii, director of South Supreme Airlines, told AFP Wednesday that it was “not clear how many people” were on board the flight.
South Sudan’s air safety profile is not yet rated by the International Aviation Safety Assessment Programme.
