Tanzania has reportedly said that it has no plans of importing COVID-19 vaccines, instead it’s pinning it’s hopes on research into local herbs.

In an interview with Tanzania’s ministry of health spokesperson Gerald Kyami went to cast out on the safety of the imported vaccine, he claims that the development has been too rapid for effective testing.

COVID-19 vaccine test meets vigorous national standards and Tanzania’s approach to COVID-19 has always been at the odds with the East African neighbours.

The country stopped reporting new cases by the end of April this year and president John Magufuli claims that the country was virus free.
