Two students of St Joseph College of Layibi in Gulu City have been shot dead after they and eight other students allegedly intrude at Bright Valley Girls secondary school in Bar-dege/Layibi division in Gulu City
The dead students have been identified as Rubangakene Kenneth and Emmanuel Okeny and the injured is identified as Ogen-rwot Jasper.
Three other students were arrested and they have been identified as Okello Brain, Ogen-rwot Daniel and Okello Samuel. They are currently being held at Gulu central police station.
According to reports, the students, numbering about 10, stealthily entered the school at around 9:50am and went straight to the girl’s dormitory.
This promoted the security guards at the college, four in number, to open fire at them, thinking they were thugs, killing Rubangakene and Okeny and injuring Ogen-rwot.
St Joseph College of Layibi Headteacher Otii David who visited the scene says he was going to conduct a roll call to ascertain the number of students missing.
