Police in Bweyogerere is holding two suspects accused of defacing campaign posters of candidates.

The Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango reveals that the identity of the suspects cannot be revealed but he says they have so far been arrested for defacing 10 posters and burning 2 billboard charts of several candidates near Kazinga-Bweyogerere in Kiira Municipality, Wakiso district.

According to information from Bweyogerere police station, the officers were tipped off by the local community that some people were defacing candidates campaign and posters.

A team of police officers was sent to the area and they caught the two red handed.

Onyango notes that the detectives are yet to retrieve a CCTV camera footage to identify the remaining suspects saying that the suspects are likely to be charged under section 78 to the presidential elections Act 2005 that criminalizes defacing of posters.
