The development is being described as a great achievement and acknowledgement of Uganda’s efforts to combat the spread of Covid 19.
Other countries on the list include El Salvado in North America, Panama in Central America, Pakistan, Ukraine and Bahamas
According to the website, the current Covid-19 trend for Uganda is relatively okay despite the case count which was on the rise through September “but in absolute terms their outbreak has been reasonably small with just under 9,000 cases so far and 81 deaths.”
Ranking 10th among 91 countries analysed, Uganda emerged the best on the continent, thanks to the Ministry of Health efforts in controlling the spread of the deadly virus.
This was attributed to the efforts of Ministry of Health under the leadership of Minister Dr Aceng Ruth and Dr Diana Atwine the Permanent Secretary.
On 20th September in his address to the Nation, President Yoweri Museveni ordered for opening up of Ugandan borders (Airport and land borders) to international tourists having been closed for some months in prevention of Covid19 pandemic.
Entry requirements include a negative test within 72 hours of arrival and a negative test before departure as well.
