A bus belonging to the Uganda Parliament that was being used to evacuate 25 Covid-19 patients from Kitgum to Kampala caught fire along Gulu-Kampala highway.
The Uganda Parliament’s bus which was transporting COVID 19 patients from Kitgum caught fire on the way to kampala.
The bus registration number UG 0391 H was carrying 25 Covid-19 patients from Kitgum busted at Koro trading centre in Gulu along Gulu-Kampala highway at around 4 pm today Thursday.
According Aswa River Region police spokesperson, Patrick Jimmy Okema says a team of fire officers from Koro rushed to extinguish the fire but it had already caused extensive damage to the automobile by the time they arrived. Ministry of Health spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona said there were no casualties and a new vehicle was organised to transport the patients to their destination.
