Uganda Police has been ranked among the most kind police force in the world
The rankings were done by the World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI).
World Internal Security and Police Index (WISPI) says index measures among others the ability of police institutions world wide to render effective security services as well as measuring public confidence in such services; rates of crime victims and the indicators of police operations and activities.
The development has however invited mixed reactions from the police brutality victims who declared it an offensive mockery.
“So the harassment we’ve faced overtime is kindness to the WISPI? Do they have an idea that there are very many civilians 6ft down under who were slain by the same police in this very COVID pandemic season?,” wonders a relative to Eric Mutasiga, a headteacher killed by police in Mukono.
“There are very many children orphaned by the same police. We don’t understand the yardstick that WISPI used to declare them kind,” she adds.
