UNICEF will redistribute more than a million doses of vaccines meant for DRC so that they don’t expire.
The vaccines distributed under the global COVAX initiative expires on 24th June according to UNICEF.
About 1.3million doses out of 1.7 million doses will now go to other countries including Senegal, Comoros, Ghana and Angola.
DRC had delayed it’s roll out of the Astra Zeneca vaccines which it received in March over concerns that they could be linked to rare blood clots.
